Fields of applications

Boiler room natural gas detection

One of the major applications of gas concentration measuring devices is explosion protection in gas-fired boiler houses, heat centres and power plants. Sensors installed in gas receivers and boiler rooms and their associated central units indicate danger at 20 to 40 percent of the lower flamable limit (LFL). The devices automatically start the ventilation fans, shut off the solenoid valve in the gas supply pipe and warn with light and sound signals to prevent an emergency. The sensors used are of explosion-proof (Ex) design. Typical gases detected are natural gas, propane-butane and biogas. Our company's predecessor, Műszer Automatika Ipari Kisszövetkezet, has been developing and manufacturing boiler house gas detectors since 1982. Our product Extox-Uni K2 has been a market leader since its introduction.

Technological gas detection

Toxic and explosive substances can be generated in the environment of technologies used by different industries. Typical hazardous substances are methane, propane-butane, hydrogen, ammonia, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, chlorine, hydrochloric acid vapour, ozone, alcohols, fuel and solvent vapours. In many areas, oxygen deficiency or excess for one reason or another is a hazard. The gas concentration measuring instruments used are designed to prevent the risk of poisoning or explosion. Automatic intervention controls can be used to initiate ventilation of the air space concerned, or to de-energise the entire process area or ignition sources. The devices manufactured by our company are set according to the explosion (LFL%) or health limits (ppm). Our range also includes gas detectors for the protection of one-man laboratory booths and for the control of large production halls.

Garage carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide detection

In garages and car parks, carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide (diesel engines!) in the exhaust gases emitted by vehicles pose a poisoning risk. The gas concentration measuring devices used are intended to prevent the risk of poisoning and to warn people in the garage or those wishing to enter. The central unit automatically controls the ventilation fans, sound and light alarms, based on the signals from the sensors installed in the air space. Traffic control devices ensure that the garage can be left unobstructed and prohibit access to and entry into the garage.

Domestic gas detection

Gas detectors used in domestic areas to detect carbon monoxide. This highly toxic gas can be released into the indoor air if combustion appliances or flue gas ducts are not working properly or are not being used correctly. Gas hazard alarms for use in the home provide audible and visual warnings before an emergency occurs.
